Brother Walt came to personal faith in Christ when he was at the university. After earning his Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees, he served as a pastor at Scottsdale Bible Church for eleven years. He was then sent to Southeast Asia as a church planter among an un-reached people group.

Brother Walt completed his doctorate and now trains national workers at schools and missionary training centers in many countries in Asia, Latin America, and Africa.
